With numerous “graduations” and promotions across the Reds’ farm system over the past two seasons, it’s time for updated rankings! Barring the Reds’ front office getting in its own way, the future should be bright for this team with the talent they’ve developed so far in their minor leagues and with recent draft picks entering the lower levels and beginning their professional careers.

For players who were promoted to the next level this year, the stats listed are combined from both levels to reflect the entirety of their season to date. I took a more upside-heavy approach with these rankings than with my prior rankings which had tended to be more conservative especially with guys in the lower levels of the organization.

  1. Hunter Greene, RHP, AAA
    88.1 IP (combined AA and AAA), 3.16 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 12.6 K/9
  2. Nick Lodolo, LHP, AAA
    49.2 IP (combined AA and AAA), 2.36 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 13.6 K/9
  3. Jose Barrero, SS, AAA (just recently called up so using AAA/AA stats)
    361 PA, .303/.378/.532, 17 HR, 34 SB
  4. Rece Hinds, 3B, A
    121 PA, .236/.322/.509, 6 HR, 3 SB
  5. Graham Ashcraft, RHP, AA
    88 IP, 2.76 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 10.8 K/9
  6. Matt McLain, SS, A+
    16 PA, .357/.438/.643, 1 HR
  7. Austin Hendrick, OF, A
    231 PA, .217/.390/.406, 6 HR, 3 SB
  8. Tyler Callihan, 2B/3B, A
    99 PA, .299/.351/.437, 2 HR, 5 SB
  9. Christian Roa, RHP, A+
    32.2 IP, 3.03 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 11.6 K/9

    70 IP, 5.14 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, 10.7 K/9

    33 IP, 1.36 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, 12.5 K/9
  12. Elly De La Cruz, 3B/SS, A
    169 PA, .285/.351/.382, 1 HR, 3 SB
  13. John Proctor, RHP, A
    40 IP, 1.35 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 11.9 K/9
  14. Alejo Lopez, 2B/3B, AAA
    302 PA, .337/.421/.475, 4 HR, 6 SB
  15. Reiver Sanmartin, LHP, AAA
    69 IP, 2.60 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, 9.7 K/9
  16. Brian Rey, 2B/OF, AA
    267 PA, .314/.368/.483, 9 HR, 2 SB
  17. Jackson Miller, C, AZL Reds (complex league, rookie)
    7 PA, .500/.714/.500
  18. Allen Cerda, OF, A+
    259 PA, .238/.355/.495, 12 HR, 1 SB
  19. Quin Cotton, OF, A+
    294 PA, .229/.272/.367, 9 HR, 6 SB
  20. Jacob Hurtubise, OF, A+
    326 PA, .284/.408/.348, 32 SB
  21. Michael Siani, OF
    316 PA, .205/.310/.311, 5 HR, 22 SB
  22. Riley O’Brien, RHP, AA
    86 IP, 4.40 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 9.5 K/9
  23. T.J. Friedl, OF, AAA
    343 PA, .250/.363/.403, 8 HR, 11 SB
  24. Daniel Vellojin, C, A
    269 PA, .241/.390/.396, 5 HR, 2SB
  25. Noah Davis, RHP, A+
    83.2 IP, 3.76 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 9.7 K/9

I know it’s the thing right now to have a top 100, some are even doing top 200 prospects but honestly the Reds’ system is rather shallow at the moment. 18 through 25 in my rankings are pretty iffy and should be considered high risk.
